About Us

Kristin White is the Director of Darien Academic Advisors. She founded DAA in 2005 and also has 10 years experience in boarding school and college placement with the Sursum Corda Scholarship Fund, an educational non-profit.

Kristin is a professional member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association), an organization with membership requirements and a strict set of ethical guidelines.  She is a member of the New Jersey Association for College Admissions Counseling, and has attended the Harvard Institute on College Admissions, and yearly consultant conferences and educator tours.

Kristin is the author of The Complete Guide To The Gap Year: The Best Things To Do Between High School and College, published by Jossey Bass in 2009. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and has an MBA from the McCombs School at the University of Texas at Austin.
